On July 21, 1946 Gordon married the love of his life, Shirley Dorsey and from this union four children were born, Janice Maria (who died in infancy), Shawn Renault (Joyce), Michael Richard and Gayle Ellen-Ada. Gordon's family continued to grow through his grand children and great-grandchildren.
